“outlook’s anonymous” by release the sunbird
you must listen to this song.
i’ll give you $5 if you do and tell me you don’t feel a little smile in your heart.
damn. i love this song. the video is pretty rad, too.
way to go, greyhounds!
kesha, blow
why am i totally obsessed with trashy pop music right now? sarah, you know what i’m talking about. sheesh.
“heart of gold,” charles bradley & menahan street band
i love the original, despite the fact that i heard it approximately 27 times per day at the worst job i’ve ever had (holla, phoebe!) but this cover, found on layton’s latest mix tape, is awesome.
so, in response to the last post, clayton just showed me this video, True Loves by Hooray for Earth, and stylistically it is extremely similar, in a very awesome way! their sound is reminiscent of Yeasayer, and the video has a very epic quality much like the Baths video…
for your watching pleasure, and the last video post of the day for me… promise!
just watched this video from Baths, Lovely Bloodflow, again. and i’m thanking lauren all over again for showing it to me!
damn, i love this thing. it is so beautiful! and the song is gorgeous!
what? gorilla vs. bear music festival
umm, perhaps worth the trip to dallas! gotta see the fam, anyhow, but this festival (a small one, albeit, a festivalito if you will) looks pretty interesting! it’s their inaugural debut and it seems to have a well-rounded lineup of bands. plus, white denim is headlining, so at very least you’ll get to see one great band! but the other acts look awesome as well!
it’s 24 bucks, which isn’t TOO bad, and the first 200 people to arrive get this limited edition poster. which i really fucking want…and would probably pay 24 bucks for without an amazing music show to accompany!
morgan, you’re going to this, aren’t you?

“hello” by the greyhounds
their new EP is the business, seriously.
ugh. i love beirut.

their sound makes me so happy. the true instrumentals, his voice, the overall aesthetic… and the fact that he wrote this song when he was 17? what the fuck was i doing? playing tom petty covers in my friend’s bedroom. (i mean, that was pretty awesome, too, but still. you know what i mean). seriously. listen to that song. ugh.
my friends andrew and anthony are the business
this is the first in a series from their new EP Spring Training. check it out, you can see more here. they play at the continental club on the reg here in austin. totally worth seeing—-they put on a bang up show! their album will be available for download soon…it comes highly recommended by anyone with good taste in music!
